planning

The new CR-V adopts a fresh exterior design, with wider, muscular wheel arches, bolder curves on the hood and rear sides and the new Honda family identity with the distinctive headlight graphics.

Thinner columns, front and rear bumpers, and aprons under the engine and floor make Honda's new SUV one of the most aerodynamic vehicles in its class. The Active Shutter Grille system also further improves performance.

The new interior design is dominated by the horizontal emphasis on the dashboard layout that shows the cabin more spacious, emphasizing the sense of width. The dashboard has two 7-inch screens, while the layout of the controls is more symmetrical, with a group of switches to manage the A / C system below the main touch screen.

The new CR-V has slightly larger exterior proportions than its predecessor, while the longer wheelbase and wider setup are the basis for a significantly more spacious interior. Large passenger compartments are accompanied by a wider, deeper luggage compartment with a larger loading area. A new two-seater floor creates a flat surface for loading larger items, while the Hands-Free electric tailgate facilitates loading.

Smart solutions make the CR-V more practical in everyday use, such as the height of the tailgate that, when opened, can be programmed to avoid contact with low ceilings, and the flexibility of the cab with the three central storage programs. console. In addition, with a single movement the split 60:40 / second row of seats can be folded easily and comfortably.

For the first time, petrol versions of the CR-V will be available with a choice of seven seats. In this case, the 3rd row offers ample legroom and easy access, as well as a 101-degree seating angle for guaranteed long-distance passenger comfort. Access to the 3rd row of seats is also very comfortable, thanks to a wide opening with a low step height.

Engines

For the first time, Honda hybrid technology will be offered in an SUV for Europe. The CR-V will now be available with the Intelligent Multi Mode Drive (i-MMD) hybrid system, which consists of a 2.0 L i-VTEC Atkinson cycle gasoline engine and two electric motors with real-time performance and effortless torque. The i-MMD system does not use a conventional gearbox, but a more compact unit with a single gear ratio to create a direct connection between moving parts and smoother torque transfer.

A 1.5-L VTEC Turbo petrol engine offers powerful performance and top fuel economy, while power is distributed through a 6-speed manual transmission, or an optional automatic CVT tuned for a more linear response.

The petrol engine and hybrid system are FWD standard, but in both cases the latest generation of Honda four-wheel drive ('Real Time AWD with Intelligent Control System') is available, which guarantees all-terrain capabilities. Ground clearance has been increased by 38mm for all versions, up to 208mm for the AWD petrol model.

The first deliveries of the CR-V with 1.5L VTEC Turbo petrol engine are expected in the Fall of 2018 and the hybrid models will follow in early 2019.
