Readers of the German magazine sport auto voted Honda Civic Type R as the Best Imported Small and Medium Sports Car in this year's edition of the institution.
More than 13.000 readers voted the Civic Type R the best in its class during the poll. Still fresh from the lap record for front-wheel drive vehicles achieved at the legendary Nürburgring Nordschleife in April, Honda's road-approved race car outperformed models such as the Seat Leon SC Cupra 300, Renault Megane GT TCe 205 and Kia Pro Cee ' d GT.
This is the second time that Honda has tasted success in the sport auto competition, as the previous generation 2015 Civic Type had won the same title Best Import Compact Sports Car.
The new Civic Type R accelerates from 0 to 100 km / h in 5,7 seconds with an optimized 2.0 VTEC TURBO engine that delivers 320 hp on the road. The top speed has been increased to 272 km / h with the multi-link rear suspension and the optimized aerodynamics package providing excellent stability at high speeds.
The Honda SENSING is standard in the Civic family and is considered one of the most complete safety packages in its class, with systems such as Collision Mitigation Braking System, Lane Keeping Assist and intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control.
