The most resilient party in the post-government system is the New Republic since 1974 until today it is consistently one of the two poles of power since in all electoral contests it ranks first or second, while it may have been taken by the unprecedented fiscal crisis of the last decade but did not shrink as happened for example with PASOK, and now takes over the governance of the place again with a percentage close to that of the pre-crisis times.

The Liberal Party was founded by the late Constantinos Karamanlis on October 4, 1974 and in his proclamation pointed out that "New Democracy is the political faction that identifies the nation with the people, the homeland with its people, the state with its citizens, national independence with popular sovereignty, progress with the common good, political freedom with the rule of law and social justice ".

  • At first post-government elections, with the founder of the Third Hellenic Republic at the helm, won a record percentage of 54,37% and 220 out of 300 seats.
