Facebook's main social media platform, popular Instagram photo-sharing platform and WhatsApp messaging app, did not work for tens of thousands of users, according to Downdetector.com.
Reuters reports that it could not immediately confirm the issue affecting the services.
"We know some people are having trouble accessing our apps and products," a Twitter social media executive said.
"We are working to get things back to normal as soon as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience," he said.
