Opinions about marriage and how good it is for a couple to take the big step often differ. Many are those who have been dreaming of it for years, while others are strong opponents of this development. For this reason, various myths have been created around marriage that do not apply.

See below three of them…

Myth 1: Half marriages end in divorce

There is indeed a great increase in the rate of divorce, especially in recent years. However, what we must emphasize is that couples who divorce every year are not the same as those who get married every year. So it is a myth that half of all marriages end in divorce.

Myth 2: Men are more unfaithful than women

Research has shown that 20-25% of men have cheated on their wives, while in women this percentage reaches 10-15%. Recent research from the University of Indiana, however, concludes that these days these numbers have been equalized for both sexes.

Myth 3: Marriage kills sex

A 2012 survey by dating site Match.com found that 41% of married couples have sex at least once a week, the same as unmarried couples. So no substantial difference.
