An incredible 87-year-old decided to remarry two years after the death of his wife from cancer and even with her best friend.
Snapshots from the wedding were uploaded on social media and specifically on TikTok by his granddaughter, Sophia Angeletakis, with the videos quickly going viral, as reported by nypost.com. "Your Grandpa Marries His Dead Ex-Wife's Best Friend", he captioned the post, which soon made the internet rounds.
So in the video, the bride dressed in white can be seen being escorted down the aisle by a woman with a cane, while the groom waits solemnly, holding his walking stick.
The priest then conducts the service and reads the vows from the iPad, while everyone watches with a smile on their face.
Then a reception takes place, in which the newlyweds dance, while at the end the groom throws the garter of his wife, to the guests. "It was fun, but if they landed next to me I'd be gone", a man is heard saying.
So the video immediately went viral on the internet and some may have declared that they were disgusted by the fact, but the majority of TikTok users showed that they were happy.
"It's never too late to rebuild your life", one person reported, while another added that “this reminds me of my dad when he married my mother's sister when she died. When I didn't call her mother and called her aunt, but she raised me wonderfully".
