Bender: "Only 1 acre is, in the end, a vakuf property in Varosia"

a 7 Occupied, Pseudokratos

In the end, only one acre of the 4.638 that belonged, within the enclosed area of Famagusta, to three vakufiks of pashas and agades, belongs to the "bakufi section" according to its "director", Ibrahim Bender.

Varosia, he said, belonged to the bakufika of Lala Mustafa Pasha, Abdullah Pasha and Hadji Bilal Aga, but during the British colonial period and later the Republic of Cyprus, they were transferred (registered) to private individuals.

According to reports from the Occupied Territories, Mr. Bender spoke at a lecture organized by the "American University of Kyrenia" on "Vakufik property in Varosia" on the historical, legal and political dimension of the issue that previously occupied the Turkish community. .

Ibrahim Bender argued that removing more than 90% of the Waqf property in Warsaw is against human values and immoral.

Professor-researcher Nazif Ozturk said in his speech that the transfer of the assets of the Turkish Cypriots to Greek Cypriots and foreigners in Varosia began in the British era with the initial lease of land and real estate which were then secured with property titles to users, and noted that it was the Greek Cypriots who appealed to the ECtHR for compensation for these properties.

Commenting on the statements and persuasions on the part of the Turkish Cypriot side about the return of these properties to their former (legal) owners (the Greek Cypriots) under the administration of the "TDK", as the pseudo-state called it, Ozwerk said that it should be studied better than the T / C side on this issue and fight for its rights in the international arena.

The former "judge" of the "supreme court", Taner Erginel, said that the legal dimension of the problem began with the beginning of the British occupation and that it could be resolved peacefully with the system of total exchange of property, pointing out that the bakufikas are part of the property. issue in the Cyprus issue. Any different and different lawsuits from one individual to another for this issue will cause new tensions and will spoil the climate of peace on the island, he added.

He also noted that during the British era, the change in the ownership status of vakufic properties to private individuals was made with legal reforms that made the property titles of vakufiks invalid. The subsequent owners of these properties, he said, are now seeking compensation, and he added that the principle of equality of international courts in property must be applied.

He said that the international courts, as they accepted the English property titles, should now accept the "property titles" that the pseudo-state distributed in 1985, based on the "constitution" and by referendum, after first making the "state" the e / k property in the occupied areas.
