AKEL Famagusta calls on Famagusta residents to visit the Reports Office

An announcement was issued yesterday by AKEL Famagusta on the occasion of the visit of the Committee on Petitions of the European Parliament in Famagusta next Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

According to the announcement, a delegation of the European Parliament's Committee on Petitions will pay a visit to Cyprus on 7 and 8 May 2018, with the main purpose of re-examining the situation in occupied Famagusta and examining whether recommendations of previous visits have been implemented but and the 2012 Written Declaration of the European Parliament.

As part of the visit, the delegation will visit the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Famagusta in Deryneia on Tuesday, May 8, 2018 at 12:00 noon and then the Chairman of the Committee will hold a Press Conference with the Mayor of Famagusta.

The visit of the Committee on Petitions of the European Parliament, the announcement states, takes place at a time when there is a strong need to send a message of unity and continuation of the struggle for liberation from the occupation and reunification of our homeland and our people.

AKEL calls on the people of Famagusta and the Cypriot people in general to come en masse to the Cultural Center of the Municipality of Famagusta in Deryneia, in order to pass the message to the MEPs who will participate in the mission, that the people of Famagusta do not agree with the to respect the UN resolutions that speak of the return of the city of Famagusta and to once again show its will and faith to continue the fight for the justification of Cyprus.
