Directed publications that attempt to undermine the efforts to return to the dialogue for a solution of the Cyprus issue, sources who spoke to KYPE described a publication by the British Daily Express which talks about the transformation of Varosia into Las Vegas with huge investments claiming that a hotel belongs to the royal family of Britain.

Stressing that last year the Government of the country had refuted the allegations in question, which are being recycled once again, the same sources noted to KYPE that "these are targeted publications that attempt to undermine efforts to return to the dialogue for a solution to the Cyprus problem".

They are publications, they underlined, in the direction of creating false impressions and additional problems instead of supporting the effort to end the impasse. Besides, they added, the relevant agencies always investigate every allegation, wherever it comes from.

In the meantime, when asked about the matter today, the President of the Republic stated that the matter is being handled diplomatically.

"We are monitoring all the reports, many times we have seen similar reports in the past, our diplomatic mission, the High Commission in London is investigating the matter and everything that needs to be done through the diplomatic channel, rest assured that it is being done," he said.
