The so-called "foreign minister" Kudret Ozersay, in a post on his personal Facebook account, referred to his visit to Varos and said that the so-called "government" of the pseudo-state is ready for developments in connection with the opening of the closed city.

As he wrote, as of this morning, the "recording team" in the closed city of Varosia entered the area and started on-site work.

He said that after 45 years, for the first time, such a large delegation began exploring the area. He added that in parallel with the clerical work, the on-site surveys at the level of "recording team" will continue with the support of experts who will be added to the team from different institutions in the coming days.

He also said that the "government" of the pseudo-state will continue to seriously study the issue in accordance with the decision it has taken.

Mr Ozersay also said they were determined for developments in the region, which he said had "become a symbol of the status quo".

"A new breath can and must be given to Famagusta, Varosia and Cyprus in general. "I want to thank the members of the 'committee' and all those who attended and contributed to the work despite the heat and the sun," he said.
