The delegation of the Municipality stressed that the position of the Municipality of Famagusta is that such actions blatantly violate the provisions of UN Security Council resolutions 550 (1984) and 789 (1992) which provide for the extradition of Famagusta to the United Nations and through them to legal residents. of. The Minister of Foreign Affairs assured the delegation of the Municipality that the government is closely monitoring the issue in cooperation with the United Nations. He also informed the delegation of the Municipality about actions and plans of the government concerning Famagusta, in view of the forthcoming meeting of the President of the Republic with the Turkish Cypriot leader on August 9, as well as in view of the presence of the President at the UN General Assembly. .
