The process of opening Varos continues, Ozersay says

The "government" policy of opening the besieged city of Varos continues with the same determination, said "Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister" Kudret Ozersay.

In a post on Facebook, Mr. Ozersay states that the process is continuing, adding that he had a meeting with the "inventory committee" where the work of the experts was reviewed.

He also said that they had made the necessary diplomatic moves, responding to the efforts of the Greek Cypriot side to the Security Council to stop the actions on the issue, such as the letter sent to the UN and the contacts in New York last September.

According to Ozersay, the work of various groups around the identification and registration of antiquities, churches, movable property, electricity lines and buildings is nearing completion. Next week, some of these issues will be discussed in the "ministerial", he adds.

All developments prove the correctness of the "government" policy in relation to the opening of Varos, says Mr. Ozersai. With the policy pursued, the property rights of both former residents and EVKAF, on the basis of human rights, will not be violated.
