A fire broke out in three hectares, which broke out on Tuesday afternoon in a rural area in Avgorou, after sparks of EAC electrical cables which were cut off by a passing truck.
Specifically, according to an announcement by the Fire Service, at 14.15 on Tuesday afternoon, a call was received for a fire, which burned an area of three hectares of dry grass, low wild vegetation, olive trees, acacias and reeds in the village of Avgorou.
Members of the Police and the Fire Service from the Famagusta and Xylofagos Rural Fire Station responded with three fire trucks with their crews and the fire was brought under control at 16.10.
In addition, a fire truck from the British Bases and a private agricultural tractor were used to extinguish the fire.
The fire was caused by sparks of electric cables after hitting them by a truck.
