The THOI Avgorou
The women's volleyball team of TH.O.I. Avgorou was created in 1994 and since then it is maintained in the First Division. For twenty-four years it has been composed of athletes from the free province of Famagusta. Its headquarters is the Avgorou Technical School and it is the only group in Cyprus that belongs to a community and not to a Municipality. Despite the adverse conditions, it manages to remain in the A 'category of the Cyprus championship.
A common goal is to maintain the sport of volleyball in the province of Famagusta. In TH.O.I. Avgorou maintains academies aged 8 and over and participates in championships for ten, thirteen and fifteen year olds with four different teams. The academies for young children are maintained in Sotira and Avgorou.
