Giorgos Savvidis traveled from abroad to participate in the third Run for Autism road race which took place last Sunday in Ayia Napa.

George, a runner from abroad, describes his experience.

"Although I have traveled to so many places around the world, from March 29th to 31st I had the opportunity to visit beautiful Cyprus for the first time to participate in a race where all the proceeds went to children with autism. Really the ones that I lived all the days in Cyprus, I have no words to describe them.
Regarding the organization, it was excellent in all respects. The love of the organizers for what they do and for the purpose for which it is done, was evident from the first moment. Everything was perfect in every way. A total of 3.000 runners from 21 countries made the event a real celebration, a big hug and support for Smile Projet and children with autism."

Although I have traveled to so many places around the world, from the 29th to the 31st of March I had the opportunity to visit beautiful Cyprus for the first time to participate in a race where all the proceeds went to children with autism.
Really, I have no words to describe what I experienced all the days in Cyprus.
Regarding the organization, it was excellent in all respects. The love of the organizers for what they do and for the purpose for which it is done, was evident from the first moment. Everything was perfect in every way. A total of 3.000 runners from 21 countries made the event a real celebration, a big hug and support for Smile Projet and children with autism.
The runners of Famagusta and so many others, voluntarily and non-profit, all gave their souls to make everything go perfectly. The event was truly exemplary and the best I have ever participated in! All events should be of such a nature!
The idyllic landscape next to the magnificent beach of Ayia Napa, the dives we did, the race, the purpose, the people, the runners, the volunteers, all these together made up a very beautiful race.
The lack of profit and money transactions really gave another color to this whole big celebration after the finish, since all the products from beers, pizzas, soft drinks, sweets, waters, bananas, massages and so many other things were given free by the sponsors to all runners and non-runners. After the race, all the runners had become a big group at the finish area with the hugs, teasing and compliments non-stop.
The groups of runners from all over Cyprus were there each in their own tent and the image of all the runners united for this purpose was wonderful.
As for the hospitality, I don't know how to describe it. I experienced all 3 days incredible moments of love, warmth, hospitality and real friendship. From the first moment of my presence on the Island I received so many messages to meet with so many runners, which happened on all days but mostly on race day. I had the opportunity to meet so many runners, so many friends of the Podcast that I was truly amazed by their words and their actions. I heard so many stories and so many things about the help they get through the show that I was speechless myself! They were all wonderful and I really thank them all from the bottom of my heart.
But especially to thank for the friendship, the hospitality and all the care and love offered to me by my good friend Thanasis Athanasiou who invited me many months ago to the event. Thanasis, you truly enslaved me with your hospitality and I will never forget it in my life.
Many thanks to all the runners and everyone I met that I don't want to mention everyone individually because I'm afraid I'll forget some.
Louis, you are a force, the unsung hero and soul of the event! You really deserve many congratulations!
I was filled with images that will forever be etched in my mind and heart.
Thank you all and see you soon!
