The opening of the first photo exhibition of Antonis Zorpas entitled "Opinion" took place on Thursday night at the Municipal Museum "Thalassa" in Ayia Napa.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the Head of the European Parliament Office in Cyprus Mr. Andreas Kettis and the MEP Mr. Costas Mavridis.
The exhibition will be open to the public until 17/01/2018.

Apopsis (ἄποψις) by Antonis Zorpas:
Apopsis ("ψποψις" in ancient Greek) is the image of a landscape as seen from a specific point, usually somewhere high up or even the "perspective" from which one sees a thing, a case, an issue as well as the opinion he has someone for something. So, the first photo exhibition of Antonis Zorpas comes to present mainly the point of view from which one sees things while recording his personal opinion and Opinion. It is no coincidence that this photo exhibition, going against the basic rules that want each exhibition to have a single main theme, has an apopsis or suspicion of various themes. After all, the daily life of each of us does not have a single theme but heaps of themes with daily dead-ends "Dead-End" but also everyday shades of "Cashmere". He dares to submit his Opinion freely as he does without hiding from anyone. From the entrance where the "Family" welcomes you, to the stormy sea "The Storm" in the peace and tranquility of which God each of us believes "The Door". His reflection on the last divided capital of Europe "Divided Capital" and the nostalgia of the ghost plane with the emblem of Cyprus Airways, forgotten at the Nicosia airport "Behind the Fence", are then recorded.
Among the 24 photos in total, the exhibition is completed by the "Harvest" harvest season in the Paralimni Plain (where Antonis Zorpas comes from), the imposing bridge and the palace in Budapest "The Palace and the Bridge", the dusk somewhere in the North Polo "The Night Fall", the tormented hand of a blacksmith "Blacksmith", the memories (good or bad) of the years gone by "My Life", the majesty of the Rock "The Rock" and the awe it causes us. A special moment in the exhibition is the innocence and the hope that Ballerina presents in "Street Art".
Brief CV:
Antonis Zorpas was born in Famagusta in 1970 while he comes from Paralimni. He completed his studies at the National Technical University of Athens in Athens in the field of Chemical Engineering while holding a master's degree and a doctorate in Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering.
He is currently a Lecturer at the Open University of Cyprus, President of the Pancyprian Association of Environmental Scientists and Engineers, Scientific Associate of the European Union, Advisor to the Office of the Environment Commissioner, Scientific Associate at various European Universities and Research Centers. He specializes in Strategic Development Plans, Chemical Engineering and Environmental Engineering, as well as Circular Economy and Metabolism of Cities. He is married to Stella and they have two children, Andreas and Georgia.
