An elderly tourist was pulled from the sea area of Ayia Napa dead.
The 80-year-old tourist from Austria was found around 11:00 in the morning, by bathers, sailing unconscious in the sea area "Maistrali" in Ayia Napa.
Immediately, lifeguards of the Municipality of Ayia Napa brought the woman ashore where she was given first aid without result.
An ambulance was called and she was taken to the General Hospital of Famagusta, where the doctors on duty determined that she had died.
The causes of her death will be ascertained by the legal necropsy without excluding the possibility that her death was due to pathological causes.
