On the day of his birthday, a British man and his wife were named "Ayia Napa Tourism Ambassadors" for their 25 visits.

A big surprise awaited the British Kevin Owen on the day of his birthday, since he and his wife Christina were honored today Friday, August 23, 2019, and were declared "Ambassadors of Tourism of Ayia Napa" in a special ceremony that took place in front of the new setting he created the Municipality especially for this purpose.

The awarding of the commemorative plaque and the special emblem of the Municipality was made by the Deputy Mayor of Ayia Napa Mr. Christos Zannetou, in the presence of their three children Rosie, Alice and Max, the Cultural Officer of the Municipality Mrs. Maria Tofini Tsantila and their family friend Nikos Toumazos.

Welcoming the couple, Mr. Zannetou, after first thanking them, said that the awarding of the highest distinction is the least that the Municipality can do to express its gratitude and appreciation to their faces for both the practical love and the particular preference they show for Ayia Napa.

He then explained the reasons for their award, for the establishment of the institution of "Ambassador of Tourism" by the Municipality as well as for the electronic diploma, which will be sent to their e-mail.
