Heavy hail hit the province of Famagusta today in the early morning hours.
The hail occurred at around 6 in the morning in the whole province of Famagusta while it mainly affected the communities of Avgorou, Liopetri and Sotira.
During the heavy hail, the visibility on the road network was low, while there was a traffic problem due to the increased slipperiness of the roads.
According to the Police, in the province of Famagusta on the Larnaca - Ayia Napa highway from the Liopetri bridge to the Xylofagou bridge, heavy hail was observed and a lot of hail has been collected on the road.
Police warn those on the road to drive at a safe, low speed, to keep a safe distance from oncoming vehicles, to comply with traffic signals and the instructions of police officers on duty.
