The Contract for the Provision of Public Passenger Services on Regular Bus Lines in the Designated Area of the Famagusta District, which is under the effective control of the Republic of Cyprus, was signed today at the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works.
The Contract was signed on behalf of the Government, the General Director of the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, Mr. Stavros Michael, and on behalf of the Company "M.E. Famagusta Buses, LTD ", the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mr. Dimitris Pantelis, in the presence of the Head of the Directorate of Public Passenger Transport, Mr. Andreas Nikiforou and representatives of the Board. the company's.
The contract start date is set at 1η November 2021 with a total duration of 10 years. The total amount of the contract amounts to fifty nine million six hundred seventy five thousand and forty euros (€ 59,675,040.00) plus VAT, and with the right of the Contracting Authority to extend the services up to 50% for the amount of forty four million two hundred eighty five thousand and five hundred euros (€ 44,285,500.00) plus VAT.
This new Convention is another step in the implementation of the Government's plan to upgrade Public Passenger Transport. The main goal is to make the choice of using Public Passenger Transport by bus, a substantial alternative to the mobility needs of the modern citizen.
