Famagusta District: Invest in agritourism and claim up to € 200 thousand

The Development Company of Larnaca - Famagusta Provinces Ltd (LAG) in collaboration with the Managing Authority of the Rural Development Program 2014 - 2020, the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organization and the Department of Agriculture announced the Proclamation of Scheme 19.2: Strengthening for Non-Agricultural Activities ”which is implemented in the framework of the Local Development Strategy of the Rural Areas of the Larnaca - Famagusta Provinces 19.2.2 - 2014.

The aim of the Action is to support the creation and development of non-agricultural activities, as well as businesses related to agritourism.
The actions eligible for funding are the following: Creation, extensions, modernization of low-capacity overnight infrastructure (tourist accommodation and small hotels).

• Creation, extensions, modernization of restaurants (taverns / restaurants / cafes / cafes, etc.)

• Enrichment activities - Creation, extensions, modernization of units of household crafts, handicrafts, production of traditional art items, retail stores related to agricultural products and other enrichment activities related to local culture, local tradition, local products (eg themes parks).

Beneficiaries are:

(a) micro or small enterprises which carry on or intend to engage in economic activity by carrying out their activities in rural areas;
(b) natural persons residing in rural areas;
(c) farmers or members of an agricultural household. Potential beneficiaries / applicants should apply for a sponsorship to be implemented in the LAG intervention area.

The amount of the sponsorship amounts to 50% on the eligible costs of the investment.

In investments made in mountainous areas, as defined in the RDP 2014 - 2020, the amount of aid amounts to 60% of the eligible costs of the investment. The minimum sponsorship amount (Public Funding) is the amount of € 10.000 and the maximum sponsorship amount is € 200.000.

The total budget that will be allocated amounts to € 940.000 of which € 498.200 constitute the Community Participation (53%) covered by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD), € 441.800 per National Participation (47%).

The aid is granted to the Beneficiary in the form of a grant and its amount is calculated as a percentage of the eligible costs of the Project.
