Answering a relevant question, Ms. Hatzigianni said that "out of the 56 patients, only 11 are vaccinated against Covid-19", Adding that" the percentage of patients who have not been vaccinated is around 89% ".
The Scientific Director of the General Hospitals of Larnaca - Famagusta also stated that "since last week there is a second Intensive Care Unit due to the need observed recently, for more beds for patients who need closer monitoring." Specifically, he said, "now in the Reference Hospital there are a total of 12 beds in the two Intensive Care Units".
He also explained that "the large spread of the coronavirus Delta mutation has the effect of rapidly deteriorating the health status of patients and there is an increased need for close monitoring in MAF conditions or even in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU)." "For this very reason, it became necessary to increase the number of beds in the Intensive Care Unit of the Referral Hospital," he said.
It is noted that 20 patients with coronavirus are treated at the Larnaca General Hospital, two of whom are in the Intensive Care Unit.
The Eden Rehabilitation Center in Tersefanou hosts 135 people who will remain until their complete negativity.
