With touching words, the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Christos Zannetou, said goodbye to his beloved colleague, collaborator and friend Kyriakos Trisokkas, mayor of Liopetri, last Monday at his funeral. Christos Zannetou described with emotional words the man Kyriakos Trisokkas but also the unfilled gap he leaves behind.

This is the funeral of the Mayor of Ayia Napa:

"It is with great sadness that we say goodbye to a great man today. A man who identified the course of his life with his two great loves, his Family and the Local Government,

Beloved friend, collaborator Kyriakos,

Through the feeling of the need to say goodbye to a true friend and collaborator, on behalf of the Municipality of Paralimni, Sotiras, Deryneia (whose Mayor is under restriction) and Ayia Napa, I address you our short farewell.

It is with a torn soul and with sorrow in the heart that we are today in front of your body to lead you on your heavenly sternal journey.

The hard manta of your unfortunate doom, dear friend and collaborator, broke the hearts of all of us. The message of your lightning flight is still ringing in our ears and we said "it is a lie, it is not true". And yet, unfortunately, the truth is bitter, full of tears of soul and pain.

The thread of your life, friend Kyriakos, was cut to the point where you could now enjoy the fruits of your human fame, together with your loved ones, your beloved wife Maria, your two Levantine sons Fotis and Panagiotis and your four adorable Your grandchildren, Kyriako, Athena, Elina and Alexandra, as well as all those who met you, kissed you, collaborated and lived you in the joys and sorrows of your life.

In such hours it is impossible to find those words that will comfort the wife, the children, the brothers, the relatives, the friends, the associates, the villagers, the acquaintances who experienced the friend Kyriakos, Common Leader of Liopetri through the good words, his actions and his offer, not only in the favorite village of Liopetri but also in the whole Province of Famagusta.

Through the long-term offer of his 26 years as Common Leader of Liopetri, he managed to show that he was a model of an excellent honest man, patriotic, pure, meek, beloved and active for his favorite village. Through your participation, as a key Member of the Democratic Alarm, as President of the Union of Communities, as a Member of the Town Planning Council, the Central Slaughterhouse, the Development and Fundraising Association, you gained the love and appreciation of all those who knew and kissed you.

Dude Sunday,

I had the good fortune to meet you first through the common struggle for the reform of the Local Self-Government and then through the common struggle - a vision for a quality and sustainable Free Province of Famagusta.

Your insight, your vision for the development of your community pushed you to make the big decision to coexist with coastal, tourist Municipalities, because you really believed in it.

Your struggles for the regeneration of the river have taken on flesh and blood, but unfortunately you will not be able to enjoy this grandiose project which will be the beginning of putting your community on the tourist map and beyond. Your stamp, your contribution to the upgrading of the living standard and development of the community of Liopetri will never be erased. It will forever remain in everyone's memory.

Beloved and forgotten friend Kyriakos,

Having forever in our souls, this self-confidence, determination, your well-meaning advice and remarks, the right examples of honesty and dynamism, we say goodbye to you, dear collaborator and beloved Common Leader not only of Liopetri but of our entire Province.

We say goodbye and pray to God to rest you near him. We are sure that God Almighty will rank you among the righteous and will offer comfort, strength and courage to your family.

May your memory be eternal. ”
