The Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works organizes an open consultation on July 16, 2018 in Paralimni (Event Hall of the Municipal Palace of Paralimni between 17.30 and 19.30) on the topic of sustainable public transport in our country, with the aim of both informing and submitting opinions civil society, which will be duly taken into account by the Ministry of Transport, Communications and Works, so that it responds to the real needs of society and to avoid mistakes and omissions of the past.
The briefing will cover the basic actions of the Ministry in matters of preparation of Public Concession Contracts that will be valid from 2020 onwards, as well as the new approach developed through dialogue with local authorities on infrastructure issues, especially bus stops, the shelters, as well as the new telematics system, which has been implemented at the Cypriot level.
The participation of all is considered particularly useful and necessary, as in the context of the event will be exchanged views which will be taken into account in the design and implementation of policies and actions for public transport. The way in which citizens, actors and organized groups will participate on a permanent basis in a cooperation platform will also be discussed, where common goals will be set and recognized, and coordinated corresponding actions will be developed.
