So, this year we will be vacationing in Protaras, a cosmopolitan destination with beaches of unique beauty, with crystal clear, turquoise waters and wonderful sandy beach, friendly (and mostly safe) environment ideal for all ages, smiling residents, and many hidden secrets, who generously give the visitor a lot of reasons to discover him and fall in love with him.

Summer vacations for most are connected to the sea and Protaras has wonderful beaches, endless sandy beaches and uniquely picturesque bays. The sea is shallow and warm, and if you are with family and young children, most beaches are like a huge children's pool.
However, there are also "hidden beaches" for those looking for peace and relaxation. They are the small bays, Armyropigado, Pezounospilioi beach, Ellinika beach and Skoutaroi beach, which are definitely worth discovering!
If you want a cosmopolitan environment, you don't have to search much. The hottest side all day hangouts are located along the beach front, and are waiting to welcome you, taking all safety precautions, for your own and their own good!
Among the beautiful beaches that the area has, there is also the one where you can go with your favorite dog (and with the law!). It is the Dog Beach in the Kapparis area (Kapparis Dog Friendly Beach) and is the only one of its kind in Cyprus, since it is a sandy beach, with games exclusively for dogs as well as special trash cans.
And of course, if you are one of those who love water sports, you will try your sailing skills by contacting the Begafino group located near Agia Triada beach.

Protaras, may be ideal for relaxation and fun, thanks to the successful triptych sun - sea - sand, but it is also offered for other alternative forms of tourism. That's why a walk in Protaras is a must, to admire everything that nature has generously given to the area! Monuments, parks, museums, nature trails, caves, and much more are an important attraction for all.
It starts from the coastal pedestrian street, which extends for more than 4 km and connects the area of Pernera with Fig Tree Bay beach, as well as the fishing shelter of Agios Nikolaos with Luma beach. The route will allow you to explore the area more and at the same time discover a treasure of wonderful beaches. At the same time it is ideal for walking or jogging, as you enjoy the sunset over the blue waters of the Mediterranean.
However, I also went up to Profitis Ilias, the small church that stands arrogantly on the high hill of Protaras. Choose to climb the stairs late in the afternoon and enjoy the sunset from the most magical place in the area.
Do you like walking in the imposing nature? Follow one of the nature trails in the area, which will reward you with more. We suggest you follow what starts at Konnou Beach, between Protaras and Kavo Greco (Pedalio), and will take you to the picturesque Cyclops Cave. Throughout the route, there is a wonderful view to the blue-green waters and the golden sandy beach of Konnos beach, as well as Agioi Anargyroi.
In the area it is worth visiting one of the beautiful chapels, some of which are located on the beach, while others in the residential area of Paralimni!
So it is worth a visit to the small, humble church of the Holy Trinity located in a picturesque bay three kilometers from Paralimni and standing next to the homonymous fishing shelter. Fishermen tying their fishing boats to the small harbor and passing pilgrims always keep the candle lit in front of the icons.
The absolute picturesqueness, however, you will admire in the fishing shelter of Agios Nikolaos in the Pernera area of Protaras. This is a very picturesque and beautiful port as a postcard. The small chapel of Agios Nikolaos, dressed in Aegean colors, "stands" above the port and the beautiful beach of Luma, thus adding that last touch to the beautiful painting of the area.
Of course, a visit to the traditional house of the Municipality of Paralimni, located at Agias Marinas Street, no. 5 in Paralimni. It is an old traditional house dating back to the early 19th century. In the old house, you can see a rich collection of exhibits of popular Cypriot art, constructions and tools associated with everyday life and occupations of the inhabitants, reviving old good times of Cypriot life.
Add flavor to your summer
If you also love to try new flavors, in Protaras, you will find your paradise, since the area hosts some of the best restaurants on the island, which specialize in all cuisines. Enjoy a view, but also good food in one of the wonderful restaurants of the coastal Protaras. But it is worth taking a walk in Paralimni, where even there (around the square) you will find modern shops that give you excellent gastronomic options. Fresh fish, seafood, sushi, spaghetti, pizzas, appetizers, offto stealth, steak, snacks, souvlaki and everything else your appetite craves!
Don't forget for dessert to enjoy the crispy donuts of the area, as well as cool ice cream!
In the evening, you can go out for a cocktail or drink at one of the famous bars in the area!

Of course you will also go shopping, both in the city center and on the boulevard. First of all, as well as on the avenue. April 1st, but also in the center of Paralimni, which hosts shops that you will want to visit every day, now with a new schedule until late at night!
It is also important that the area has transportation, which allows you to leave the car and move easily and comfortably throughout the area!
