An injured eagle was rescued in the morning by members of the Hunting Association of Deryneia while they were in the area of Fanou, in Paralimni.
Specifically, the two members of the association handed over the injured bird for treatment to the Thera Service, while they condemned in a post the act of some to injure such a bird.
The announcement of the association in detail:
"Today in the area of Fanos in Paralimni 2 active members of our Association while hunting turtles found an injured eagle of the species Bonelli's Eagle (Aquila fasciata) Perticosiachino - Spizaetos and handed it over to the Thera Service for treatment and later release of the bird. This kind of action honors our Association and also our members. Congratulations to the children for their action and this honors them especially since with their hunting conscience they showed the required respect for nature. Our Association condemns the irrelevant riflemen who beat such a bird because these irrelevant ones destroy the name of the Hunter. Also, these actions, when they come to our notice, must be condemned and the culprit arrested. "
