Paralimni High School: In Germany for Erasmus program

Within the framework of the ERASMUS Program "Born equal, live different", the Lyceum of Paralimni was visited from 25/1 / until 1/2/2020, the Realschule Heepen in Bielefeld in Germany.

Apart from our school, schools from France, Germany and Greece participate in the program. The aim of the program is to help students develop attitudes of equal treatment and management of their classmates and fellow citizens, acceptance of the different, respect and empathy.

The Paralimni High School team was hosted in Bielefeld by the Realshule Heepen school. Realshule in the German educational system, are schools that provide general education up to the respective class of the XNUMXst Lyceum.

The students of the program were hosted by families of children in Germany who participate in the program.

The participating groups presented both the characteristics and peculiarities of their country, as well as information about the school in which they attend. It was a very interesting activity because the students in a short time learned a lot of information about the countries that participated in the program.

As part of the offer and support to our fellow citizens, students had the opportunity to participate in the voluntary social program "Fruit Alert" for children with cancer. They made and sold drinks at the school to raise money to help these children.

As part of their visit to Germany, the students were also hosted in Hamburg.

Finally, the groups presented the work (video) they prepared on the topic of their mother tongue. The presentation of our school aimed at promoting our language through the history of our place while presenting our political problem.

Students returned richer in experiences and experiences, which are a guarantee for the creation of active citizens of a united Europe.

The participants have renewed their appointment for the next meeting to be held in Cyprus.
