Kyriakos Ioakeim, Member of the Urban Planning Council

The Council of Ministers appointed Kyriakos Ioakeim, Municipal Councilor of Paralimni, representative of the President of the Union of Municipalities of Cyprus, as a Member of the Urban Planning Council, replacing Charalambos Petridis, who was appointed Minister of Defense.

The decision to appoint, for the remainder of the term of the Council until 30 July 2021, was taken by the Council of Ministers, at its meeting on 29 July 2020, on the recommendation of the Minister of the Interior.

Kyriakos Ioakeim was born in Famagusta in 1971. His parents were Sotiris Ioakeim and Despina Flourka Rousou, from Paralimni. After completing his military service, he studied Mechanical Engineering in Athens. During his studies, he was an active member of the Avant-Garde and E.F.E.K. Athens (1991-1996). He was a member of the District Council of NE.DISY. Famagusta (1996-2003). He served as the District Secretary of Sectoral and Professional Organizations of DISY Famagusta, a member of the District Executive Secretariat of the District Council and a Member of the Supreme Council of DISY. Famagusta (2003-2006). From 2006 to 2011, he was a Municipal Councilor of Paralimni. Since 2013 he has been the Deputy District Secretary of DISY Famagusta and a member of the Politburo of DISY. In 2014 he was appointed by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Vice President of the Cyprus Cereals Committee. He is married to Anna Pattihi Ioakeim and is the father of two children, Sotirios and Loukas.
