The third positive drug test was recorded yesterday in the province of Famagusta, after the arrest of a 30-year-old driver, after previously after a check in Paralimni, the Police found that he was driving under the influence of drugs.
According to the Police, in Paralimni yesterday, at 15:50, a member of the Famagusta traffic police stopped a car with a 30-year-old Greek Cypriot driver from Kaimakli for a traffic control.
During the search, the member of the Police found out that a strong smell of cannabis was emerging from the car and called members of YKAN to the spot.
During the search, a small amount of cannabis was found in his possession.
The driver was arrested and taken to the offices of YKAN Famagusta for further investigation of the case. There he underwent a positive test for narcotics.
Subsequently, his home was searched and a metal mill with a quantity of cannabis, a precision scale with traces of cannabis and a metal container containing a small amount of cannabis were found.
The total amount of cannabis found in his possession is about 14 grams.
