In her statements to FamagustaNews, Ms. Sofia Tsantila, School Events Manager, described today 's event called "Hair Styling Event", which has been going on for eight years, as "very important and moving", while recalled the positive impact that 8 years ago the practice of school students had on patients from the Karaiskaki Foundation.
According to Ms. Katelitsa Amulet, Principal of Xenion High School, "The event started spontaneously eight years ago when a 15nd grade high school student suffering from cancer lost his hair after chemotherapy and as a result he does not feel well going to school." He added that "his classmates, in an effort to boost his morale and make the student feel comfortable, to go to school, decided to shave their heads. Thus, the XNUMX children of the XNUMXnd grade of the High School at that time, today became one hundred, while their energy was embraced by all the students, younger and older ".
"Professional hairdressers from the free province of Famagusta came to school today, who dedicate their time to cutting the students' hair."
Ms. Katelitsa Amulet also spoke about the philosophy she embraces: "It's the actions that count, something that happened today at the school.
Juices, granitas, pizzas and other items were sold in the schoolyard at the same time as the haircut.
The money raised will go to a common fund and the final amount will be donated to charity.
