The arrest of a 37-year-old man from Larnaca was carried out last night by members of the Paralimni Police Station and the Famagusta Traffic Station, who was found to be driving under the influence of narcotics, while a quantity of a controlled drug of class B was also found in his possession.
Specifically, on 6/2/23 at 2000 hours, members of the Paralimni Police Station and Famagusta Traffic Police were conducting a traffic control in Paralimni and stopped a vehicle driven by a 37-year-old man from Larnaca.
During the control there was a strong smell of cannabis and a subsequent investigation found an egg-shaped plastic box in a bag of manufactured tobacco which contained cannabis plant material with a total weight of 0.3049 grams.
The 37-year-old, after being arrested for committing self-inflicted crimes, was subjected to a drug test with a positive result.
Famagusta Police Station and the Paralimni Police Station are investigating.
