PROTARAS: Handcuffs to a 35-year-old from Paphos for the armed robbery at a kiosk

He had gone for cigarettes and... grabbed the entire cash register

The Police arrested a 35-year-old man, a resident of the district of Pafos, yesterday afternoon, in relation to an investigated case of armed robbery committed on October 30, 2023 in Protaras.

Specifically, a 36-year-old kiosk employee in Protaras reported to the Police that an unknown man entered the kiosk and asked to buy cigarettes.

The man then allegedly pulled out a handgun and demanded the money from the cash register. The woman reportedly refused and the man, after grabbing the entire cash register, fled.

He allegedly got into a car that was waiting for him outside the kiosk and they fled in an unknown direction.

As part of the investigation of the case and based on the evaluation of evidence, the Police proceeded to arrest the 35-year-old man, who allegedly admitted to the commission of the crime during questioning.

The arrested person was taken into custody while the TAE of Famagusta continues the examinations.
