All the projects, costing more than 45 million euros, which substantially upgrade the Municipality of Paralimni, have as final recipients of the various positive results that arise, the citizens themselves, proving in practice the interest we show in upgrading their quality of life. the vision of the local authorities regarding the development and evolution of the Municipality

At the same time, I have to make a special reference to the Paralimni Marina, which is expected to bring, both during the construction phase and after its completion, multiplier economic and social benefits to the local community and the wider Famagusta area.

Indicative of the above, is the fact that agreements have already been reached for the commercial use of the premises, while similar interest has been expressed regarding the purchase of residential units.

At the same time, upgrading the image of the area is expected to strengthen and give a significant impetus to the visibly observed growth of the province of Famagusta in recent years, with new major infrastructure projects, such as the Ayia Napa Marina, the golf course, the river regeneration Liopetri and the creation of new hotel units

The implementation of these projects, in addition to the obvious upgrade of the tourist product of free Famagusta, will attract new foreign investments of high added value, will increase the income from traditional and new markets of high purchasing power, will prolong the tourist season and will create new tourist season. work.

Closing my greeting, I would like to thank and congratulate all those who contributed to the implementation of this Project, the Utilities, the Police, the Department of Urban Planning and Housing who studied the regulatory plan and the staff of the Department of Public Works, which undertook the coordination of the Study, the preparation of the tender announcement documents and then the management and supervision of the Project during its execution.

Special thanks to the Mayor and the Municipal Council of Paralimni, as well as the directly affected residents and businessmen of the area for the understanding and patience they showed during the construction work.

This project, in conjunction with the projects I have mentioned above, working towards the goal of sustainable and sustainable development, makes absolutely clear the positive results that can result from a constructive and honest cooperation between central and local government.

As has been stated many times by the President of the Republic, always in the context of the financial capabilities of the State and the wider public interest of the country, our support should be taken for granted both in the mature projects to be implemented and in the development goals and aspirations set by all local authorities.

Mayor of Paralimni: "Sorry for the delay"

PERNERAS AVENUE. An urban project that was executed with state funds totaling € 8.500.000. I want to say on behalf of the state and the Municipality a big apology to the people who suffered for two additional years of the planned time of implementation of the project.

However, the quality upgrade of the area was our priority and we finally succeeded. The completion of the project contributed catalytically to the improvement of our tourism product, to the upgrading of the quality of life of both residents and businesses, as well as to the implementation of sustainable mobility to serve all people with disabilities. Rational rainwater management, tree planting, bike lanes, street lighting, and large sidewalks now create a new landscape in the Pernera area with greater growth prospects, greater prospects for attracting new investment, and greater prospects for new production. work. I am sure that the performance of the project will bring multiple benefits to the people who have suffered in recent years due to the construction work.

We thank the Minister of Transport, Communications and Works, Ms. Vasiliki Anastasiadou, as well as the Minister of Interior, Mr. Konstantinos Petridis, for supporting us for the last year and a half in order to complete the project. During the execution of the project, many problems occurred which we will not list today as they are no longer relevant. However, these problems signaled the behavior of people who did not see the clock or whether it was a working day or a holiday and went around day and night to solve problems that at times functioned as time bombs, which could destroy the tourism of the whole of Protaras. These are none other than the project engineer Mr. Dino Kotzapassis with the team that supervised the project, whom we thank warmly but at the same time congratulate them for the zeal that they showed daily in their work.

What can I say about the former Director of Public Works Mrs. Chrystalla Mallouppa and the current Deputy Director of Public Works Mr. Socrates Zapitis who visited the construction site regularly and quietly, gave solutions immediately and personally monitored the development of the project. I declare it unequivocally, without them and their immediate decisions, the project would not be over. Also the contribution of the officials of Urban Planning Mr. Nikos Kokkinotrimithiotis and Marios Katsiantoni, the coordinator of the project Mrs. Evis Anagiotou and the head of the Traffic Studies Department Mr. Giannakis X ”Joseph was very important and decisive.

From the depths of our souls we thank them warmly.

I have turned my speech today into a hymn for some people but I lay down my soul for them because they really deserve it. We thank them, we thank them and at the same time we congratulate them.

Undoubtedly, the project of Pernera Avenue in synergy with the project of the coastal pedestrian street, the completion of the rainwater management project and the upcoming renovation of the square we are currently in, in connection with the enhancement of the street lighting of Aphrodite Street and Aphrodite Street which begins in the fall, mark the efforts made by our Municipality to complete the important infrastructure that the area was deprived of in the previous decades.

The completion of the projects of the Police Directorate as well as the operation of the provincial offices of the Land Registry and Urban Planning, have given a new impetus to the wider province of Famagusta. By the end of the year, the multi-storey car park will start in the center of Paralimni with a capacity of 300 vehicles and a value of 4 million, while at the beginning of the new year begins the first phase of regeneration of the Paralimni core, which envisages pedestrianization of the area Agios Georgios to Agia Marina, including the entire Makarios C 'Avenue worth 6 million. The operation of the Famagusta Courts and the publication of the new Local Plan of Paralimni - Ayia Napa and Deryneia complement the projects that have been achieved by the Municipality in recent years until today.

We owe all this to the government of Nikos Anastasiadis who from the first moment he took over the presidency, realized how much we were wronged as a province in the previous decades and included in the state budget several projects that concern all the Municipalities and Communities of our province. We thank him warmly and please Mrs. Minister and the Secretary of the Council of Ministers as they convey these thanks to him as well.
