The Board of Directors of PASYXE Famagusta in a recent meeting reviewed the course of tourism in 2018 and other serious issues that concern the tourism and hotel industry. Specifically reviewed and evaluated the tourist traffic during the months of May, June and July, as well as the bookings of the following months.
According to the statistics before it, the Board of Directors of the hoteliers found that the fullness in June was quite satisfactory with a slight decrease compared to last year. July started with a negative sign of 15% but seems to be recovering as we move towards the end of the month. Finally, August and September so far seem to be better than the previous ones.

The Board of Directors of PASYXE Famagusta also dealt with the voting of the bill for the establishment of the Ministry of Tourism and expressed its absolute satisfaction, emphasizing that this decision will help and contribute to the upward course of tourism.
The Board of Directors, after thanking and congratulating the parties and the deputies who voted in favor of this proposal, believes and expects that the appointment of the Deputy Minister will be made with criteria based on the well-understood interests of tourism away from political interventions and inconveniences.
During the session, views were exchanged on the efforts that should be made to extend the tourist season, with various actions and events. During the discussion it was found that something that will help extend the tourist season is the construction of a golf course in the area.
Extending the tourist season means alleviating the problem of seasonal unemployment and offering jobs to dozens of other businesses.
Along with other major projects in the Province of Famagusta, the quality of life of both residents and visitors will be improved. This is something that the European Union attaches great importance to and that is why the competent committee of the European Union has already given the green light for the creation of the golf course in Cape Greco.
Finally, the Board of Directors of PASYXE Famagusta, after discussing the various problems that concern the area such as noise pollution, four-wheeled motorcycles, thefts on the beaches, lack of adequate policing and road safety, decided to contact them and inform the authorities.
