Nicosia: An episodic pursuit of a 19-year-old took place last night, 40 minutes after midnight on the Larnaca-Nicosia highway. Members of the Police Headquarters for the Prevention of Road Collisions found the young man driving in his car at a speed of 203 km / h instead of 100 which is the maximum.
The driver of the car failed to stop at the police signal and continued his journey to Nicosia, making dangerous changes of course. He was followed by the members of the traffic and reaching the Orphanides Traffic Lights on Troodos Avenue he violated the red traffic light.
At some point on the road he collided sideways with a patrol vehicle and came to a standstill.
From a check that followed, it was found that the car was driven by a 19-year-old while in a breathalyzer test that followed, the reading was 14μg instead of 9 which is the upper limit by law. The 19-year-old is expected within the day, upon completion of the exams, to be charged in writing for all the crimes he has committed.
The Nicosia Traffic Police continues the examinations.
