According to what the two young men report, at 6:15 on Wednesday morning (5/10), they were inside their car in a state of sleep in an open area in Avgorou and more than 400 meters away from the open field in which they were located. wild bird trapping nets. According to the two 22-year-olds (A. and P.), while they were inside the car, 8 men of the MMAD Poaching Squad, surrounded their vehicle and after firing their revolvers repeatedly asked to get out of the car.
According to their complaint, after getting out of the car, the members of MMAD tried to handcuff them, while they declared their innocence, after denying their involvement in the case and since in fact their car was parked more than 400 meters from the open field in which the trapping devices were located.
Nevertheless, they were arrested and taken to the Xylofagou Police Station where they were detained, while in their testimony they denied any involvement in the poaching case.
