In the end, it was not possible for the environmental center of the Department of Forests in Cape Greco to operate during the current summer tourist season. According to the director of the Forest Department, Takis Tsintidis, this is mainly due to the lack of staff faced by his Service, but also to the fires of last June which further burdened the existing staff.

Mr. Tsintidis said, however, that there is a high probability that the Environmental Center will be ready to welcome the public from next November and definitely before the start of the new summer tourist season.

He also said that in this direction the Ministry of Education has granted the four teachers who will teach to the students who will visit the Environmental Center. Also, within a few days, the equipment and the various exhibits that will adorn it and will be the subject of teaching and training of the visitors will begin to be transferred to the Environmental Center.
