The candidacies of Christos Tsingis and Andreas Christos will be supported by DIKO for the two largest municipalities in Cyprus, Strovolos and Limassol.

In today's session, the Executive Office of the Democratic Party dealt exclusively with the issue of the Municipal elections of December and took the following decisions regarding the selection of mayoral candidates whom it will support:

NICOSIA

• Nicosia: Konstantinos Giorkatzis
• Strovolos: Christos Tsingis
• Aglantzia: Costas Kortas
• Agios Dometios: George Theofilou
• Geri: Neophytos Papalazarou
• Latsia: Kyriakos Parpounas
• Lakatamia: Giannis Pieridis

For Engomi, Dali and Cherry, consultations with the local community continue.

LIMASSOL

• Limassol: Andreas Christou
• Germasogeia: Pavlos Pavlou

In Mesa Geitonia, the Democratic Party will claim the City Hall with the candidate that will be selected through the internal party procedures provided in the regulations. For Agios Athanasios, Ypsonas and Polemidia, the consultations with the local community continue.

FAMAGUSTA

• Savior: Adamos Kaikkis

For Deryneia, Paralimni and Ayia Napa, consultations with the local community continue.

Larnaca

• Dromolaxia - Meneou: Christoforos Koumbaros
• Livadia: Marios Armenis

In the Municipality of Larnaca, DIKO will claim the City Hall with the candidate that will be selected through the internal party procedures provided in the regulations. Consultations with the local community continue for Aradippou, Athienou and Lefkara

PAPHOS

Paphos: Akis Chrysomilos

Consultations with the local community continue in Polis Chrysochous, Geroskipou and Pegeia.

OCCUPIED MUNICIPALITIES

• Kyrenia: Rita Elissaiou Komodiki
• Morfou: Charalambos Pittas
• Lapithos: Neoptolemos Kotsapas
• Karavas: Nikos Hadjistefanou

Consultations with the local community continue in the Municipalities of Famagusta, Lefkonikos, Lysis, Akanthos and Kythrea.

The Executive Office authorized the Party Secretariat to consult and reach decisions in the Municipalities where the consultation continues. The election process will take place on Friday 14/10 and all ballots will be presented for approval to the Central Committee on Saturday 15/10.
