Two of the important projects included in the list, as the Mayor of Deryneia Andros Karagiannis stated to KYPE, are "the Famagusta regional swimming pool and the urban project of Stadiou Street, ie the Deryneia-Sotiras road".

Referring to the swimming pool, Mr. Karagiannis said that "it is a sport project but also a healthy occupation of the residents of the whole province of Famagusta and its execution will significantly contribute to the improvement of the tourist product, as it will attract several teams from various foreign countries. Its proximity to the General Hospital of Famagusta will make the swimming pool a Recovery Center for patients and can be used for other needs of the Hospital ".

After stating that "the province of Famagusta has no other swimming pool of Olympic standards" he noted that the project is expected to cost around 5 million euros, with the Municipality of Deryneia willing to contribute to the creation of a rehabilitation room, cafeteria and guest house to make the project more sustainable ”. The Municipality of Deryneia, noted Mr. Karagiannis "is unable to pay the amount of about 300 thousand euros for the relevant studies and therefore we asked the President to contribute to cover the cost of implementation of Phase A of the project." The Municipality of Deryneia will be in charge of the construction of the road network and thus the project "we expect that it will upgrade the degraded area adjacent to the dead zone and will give a breath to the lovers of swimming and other related sports".

He added that another project included in the list sent to President Anastasiadis is the creation of a hall of culture, noting that "Deryneia does not have a closed event hall, resulting in events in winter in neighboring municipalities and communities. The hall of culture is a mature project, it was approved in 2009 by the previous Municipal Council and the present House has made some changes that make it more sustainable and functional ".

He added that "according to the plans, the culture room has a capacity of 380 seats, can be converted into a conference center and has state-of-the-art audiovisual media. We also asked through the involved Ministries to grant a relevant sponsorship to the Municipality of Deryneia since the project is estimated to cost around three million euros ".

Mr. Karagiannis characterized the urban planning project of Stadiou Street, ie the Deryneia-Sotiras road, as a top priority for the Municipalities of Deryneia and Sotira. He explained that the road "connects the two municipalities and the coastal area with the hinterland and leads to the highway. The project is mature and is expected to cost around 11 million euros without the expropriations ".

Another project included in the letter sent to the President of the Republic is Makariou GD Street, ie the road Deryneia - Frenarous that connects the Municipality of Deryneia with the Community of Frenarous and the other neighboring areas. The road, noted Mr. Karagiannis, "presents high traffic traffic and we call for the process to be selected for the selection of a designer to prepare the construction plans for the execution of the project."

Regarding the southern perimeter road, he said that "Deryneia receives a lot of traffic every day due to tourists and workers in the tourism industry. The construction of the road will significantly contribute to the smoothing of the traffic in the center of the Municipality "and demanded that" the procedures for the preparation of the construction plans be accelerated and that the start of the project begin as soon as possible ".

Mr. Karagiannis asked President Anastasiadis for "information on the timetables and the process of opening the Deryneia roadblock, which is a constant request of both Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots" and wished the President "good luck in his negotiating work with Tour »To resolve the Cyprus problem. According to the Mayor of Deryneia, the letter, apart from the President of the Republic, was sent to the Ministers of Interior, Transport, Communications and Works, Finance, Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Energy, Trade, Industry and Tourism, Education and Culture and to the Government.
