A 3,4 magnitude earthquake in North Korea was recently recorded by China's seismological service, estimating that "it may be due to an explosion".

The same source said in a statement that the quake had its epicenter near the area where North Korea conducted a nuclear test.

Earlier earthquakes in North Korea were caused by nuclear tests, such as the most recent earlier this month.

The Meteorological Agency of South Korea announced that it is examining the nature of the earthquake and its initial conclusion is that it was a natural phenomenon.
