The Turkish Cypriot side does not accept their continuation if the international conference is not accepted

One step before the final stagnation is the negotiations on the Cyprus issue. Talks between the two sides and consultations with the United Nations are virtually non-existent, with the Turkish Cypriot side insisting that it will not accept their resumption if an international conference is not accepted on a set date;

The Greek Cypriot side rejects the convening of an international conference, as it lacks any progress to justify it - a position publicly endorsed by the UN Secretary-General.

According to information broadcast tonight by the main television news bulletin of RIK, the Turkish side insists on conveying to the Greek Cypriot the message that the only thing it accepts is a discussion of Confidence Building Measures, rejecting the position of the Greek Cypriot side to continue the talks. , which have not been discussed so far.

According to the same information, it seems that the meeting, which will take place next Friday between the advisors of the two leaders, George Iakovou and Kudret Ozersai, will probably be the last chance to find a formula for continuing the talks.

Of particular interest to the process is Ban Ki-moon's report on the renewal of Unicup, which will be submitted to the Security Council at the end of June.
