"A tree for every child" in the Municipality of Sotira

With a special idea, the Municipality of Sotira encourages tree planting. In collaboration with the Office of the Environment Commissioner, the Mayor and the Municipal Council Sotira decided to launch the campaign "A Tree for every child born" with the aim of developing an emotional bond between the inhabitants of Sotira and the trees and consequently the forests. of the area.

The campaign is an initiative of the Office of the Environment Commissioner, while the Municipality of Sotiras has already decided to create a special park for this purpose.

More specifically, according to the Mayor of Sotiras, Mr. Georgios Takkas, in May a date of planting trees will be announced by the Municipality of Sotiras, where parents who had a child in 2015 and 2016 will be able to plant a tree and turn their child into contractor. This is an act, as Mr. Takkas mentioned, that encourages our love for trees, since the tree is connected to the child throughout his life, creating a relationship of love and respect for our natural environment in general.

Mr. Takkas also mentioned that tree planting is an encouraging act promoted by the Municipality of Sotira for the protection of our environment and tackling climate change, while this action should be a habit that will be done by all of us.
