The Municipality of Sotira is going to create a monument dedicated to "Archontissa Sotirkatissa", wife of the Savior.
The sculpture, created by the famous and distinguished Cypriot sculptor, Filippo Giapanis, will be 2,20 meters high and will be erected outside the Municipal Palace of the Savior.
It will be dedicated to the Savior's wife, the loving wife, the working mother of toil and farming, the struggle and the family.
It is noted that in the meetings held with the Municipal Council and the Committee of Monuments of the Municipality of Sotiras, participated the Former President of Anorthosis Famagusta, Mr. Kikis Konstantinou, who submitted his views and suggestions, since he is Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the Park Sculpture of Ayia Napa, while he is united by a personal friendship with the sculptor Filippos Giapanis.
The sculpture will depict a woman, who is slightly on the move, while she will be dressed in traditional clothes of the Savior.
The choice of the form and the depiction of the sculpture was made after the invitation of the Culture Committee of the Municipality of Sotiras to Primary School students to collect old photos from their grandmothers, so that they can be used as an inspiration for the artist.
