Is it possible to have summer without shoes? For many, no, and that is why there is concern among the growers of this plant.

All plants infected with the pseudococcus, show wilting and chlorination, according to an article in the newspaper Politis.

Infections of this insect may cause drying and necrosis of the fruits and leaves. It even destroys the whole plant in a short time.

The virus has infected plants in Paralimni, Sotira, Deryneia and Liopetri, according to the same publication.

The Department of Agriculture invites those affected growers to contact the department directly, but points out, however, that it is difficult to deal with.
