Tomorrow, Sunday, November 15, is the anniversary of the proclamation of the pseudo-state, but the students are fighting over whether the sentencing event will take place on Monday or Tuesday. A controversy that seems to have partisan overtones and is likely to be related to the recent elections to elect the new leadership of the student movement.

Regarding the condemnation of the pseudo-state, with his statements to RIK yesterday, the new chairman of the Pancyprian Student Coordinating Committee (PSEM) Marios Prokopiou, stated that it will take place on Monday, November 16 and that the gathering place of the students will be Tavla N.

For its part, the Nicosia District Student Coordinating Committee (ESEM) invites students to take part in a joint condemnation of the pseudo-state and the memory of the Polytechnic, which it co-organizes with the student movement and which will take place on Tuesday 17 November ( start from the American Embassy and will end at the roadblock despite the Kolokasidis roundabout). It is estimated that the announcement of different events by PSEM and ESEM is not unrelated to the election of the students' president and which candidate ultimately prevailed. Specifically, the PSEM secretariat consists of ten members. This year, a fragile balance was created between the representatives of the two major student organizations, resulting in a tie during the training of the PSEM in the House.

The two candidates for the presidency were Marios Prokopiou and Christina Stefani. Each received five votes. However, no draw was made between them, since in the process two ballot papers with the name of Mrs. Stefani were considered invalid because they were written in small letters instead of capital letters. The five "losers" of the elections submitted an objection which was examined by a secondary body, which rejected it last Thursday. Thus, Mr. Prokopiou is now officially considered the new president of PSEM. The other five students are still challenging the result and are asking for an investigation into their complaints, both from the Attorney General and the Commissioners of Administration and Child Affairs. Due to the situation, however, there was confusion in the schools and yesterday, Friday, several students wondered when the condemnation of the pseudo-state would take place.

In the meantime, with a circular to the schools, the Ministry of Education calls on the teachers to ensure "that the event for the condemnation of the pseudo-state is planned by the students for 16 (Monday) and that it takes place within the framework of student decency and decency" .
