The Municipalities of the province of Famagusta and the Police are in full cooperation with the aim of security in view of the particularly increased tourist traffic that is expected to be observed this year in the province.

The tourist season has already begun in the province of Famagusta and security measures for foreign tourists and locals are now becoming necessary.

The Municipalities of the province in full cooperation with the Police due to the increased tourist traffic but also the terrorist incidents that are observed internationally have taken the appropriate actions so that everything during this season runs smoothly.

As stated by the Mayor of Ayia Napa, Giannis Karousos, "This year Ayia Napa will have strict security measures. The pedestrian areas will be closed in such a way as to prevent the entry of cars or four-wheeled motorcycles where people will move. The goal is for there to be absolutely no problems this year and for the smell to feel safe. ”

According to the Police spokesperson, Andrea Angelidis, the Police Force will strengthen the province to avoid any incidents.

As Mr. Angelidis said, "There will be in the area the presence of the Police from MMAD patrols and the traffic Headquarters. "Terrorist precautions are always taken with regard to the situation abroad and in other countries."

According to the Mayor of Ayia Napa, the Municipality intends to install cameras in the area for further security.
