Nine weeks have passed since the beginning of the school year and the students of a specific Lyceum, every week, on the same day, have the first period empty. This is not an unexplained phenomenon, but a teacher's refusal to teach in the first hour.

Out of the nine weeks, he only showed up once in his class in the morning, while the rest he was absent. In fact, it seems that he is determined to follow this tactic until the end of the year, since he allegedly informed his students that he had warned the school about the first hour. He also informed them that during this period they will have vacancies until the end of the courses.

It should be noted that in general the compilation of the curriculum in schools is a point of friction for teachers. And not everyone may resort to such "drastic" solutions as this teacher, but who will take over and how many early periods is an issue that concerns many teachers and creates huge problems in schools.

The same goes for the last or the seventh hour, which most also want to avoid for obvious reasons.

It is indicative of the fact that OELMEK, in a letter to its members, reminds that no teacher should teach more than three seventh periods per week, while the "hen" for the assistant principals is limited to one seventh hour per week. The above regulation, according to the Organization, is based on an agreement reached in the past with the Ministry of Education.

Moreover, in his statements, the president of the teachers, Dimitris Taliadoros, explained that the purpose of the agreement is the equal treatment of teachers. Asked why there is no such provision for the third or fourth period, he replied that the seventh "is a difficult pedagogical hour and with a higher index of difficulty, due to the fact that the children are tired, as well as the teachers".
