The theatrical group "Create" won 8 awards during the award ceremony last Saturday of the 6th Panhellenic Amateur Theater Festival "Distomo 2016"
The theatrical group based in Avgorou and consisting of young volunteers, staged the play "Mother Courage" by Bertolt Brecht and was the only theatrical group among 8 entries representing Cyprus.
The jury consisted of the playwright, director, writer, Angeliki Darlasi, the actor, director, Giannis Degaitis, the actress Lambrini Michou, the actress and director Efi Meravoglou and the choreographer-kinesiologist, Lena Syrou.
The theatrical group "Create" was nominated in 11 categories, for which it won the following 8 awards:
Direction Award: Andreas Christou
Composition Music Award: George Kalogirou
First Prize for female role: Christina Kasia (Mother Courage)
Second prize for female role: Ioanna Georgiou (Katerina)
Award for Best Actor: George Papaconstantinou (Cook)
Award for First Best Performance
Audience Award (ages up to 25 years)
Audience Award (ages over 25 years)

It is noted that from all the performances that took place in Cyprus, the proceeds were donated to charity.
The 6th Panhellenic Amateur Theater Festival "Distomo 2016" was organized by the Distomo Theater Workshop "Theatrofrenia", from 19 to 27 August 2016. The performances were given at the open theater of the Distomo Mausoleum and were attended by 7 theatrical groups from all over Greece. "Create" represented Cyprus.
