The T-2 Buckeye is the only training jet of the Air Force, and with it the Ikari and the new Second Lieutenants complete their training.

The procurement of 40 instructors of this type in 1976 fundamentally reformed the aviation training system.

The T-2E can carry up to 3500 lb of ordnance on 6 wing carriers including machine gun and rocket pods. It can be used for training with a weapon load, but also take on a combat role if required.

It has a tricolor variation of green, brown and white.
