The actor and director, who was imprisoned since last July, will sit in the seat of the Mixed Jury Court of Athens, in order to be tried for continuous rape in 2008 and two attempted rapes, in the years 2010 and 2014.
The actor's trial has been set for that date, following a referral panel issued last November by the relevant judicial council. The panel states that the testimonies of the three female actors who complained to their colleague are based on facts. According to the judges, none of the complainants intended to slander the accused, as he had claimed before the investigator last summer, during his apology.
Accepting the prosecutor's proposal in its entirety, the members of the Judicial Council state, among other things, in the panel that issued: there is a motive for slandering the accused, in order to obtain publicity, as a long time has passed since the accused and if indeed the aim of the victims was to obtain publicity they would have denounced these criminal acts at an earlier time when they were at the beginning of their professional course ".
According to the case file, Petros Filippidis is accused of raping a colleague, the daughter of an actor, with whom he had collaborated in two plays from 2004 to 2010. The complainant has testified that Accused of sexually assaulting her in September 2008 in the dressing room of the "Ivi" theater while she had visited him on a business date.
There, the actress, according to her testimony, proceeded with indecent acts against her, which constitute the crime of rape. The complainant also claims that her actor, about three months before her rape in the theater, had invited her to a theater company office and there he tried for the first time to have sex with her, against her will.
The second charge against Petros Filippidis concerns an attempted rape in February 2010 at the "Mousouri" theater. He was reprimanded after a colleague complained that he had been sexually assaulted by a colleague inside the theater and that she was screaming and injured while trying to escape. According to the complainant, the accused, after the attack against her, threatened to destroy her professionally.
Finally, the third woman who complained to Petros Filippidis, has testified that after a business meeting with him, he drove her to Paleo Psychiko Street and, after locking the doors of his vehicle, attacked her and tried to force her to engage in sexual acts against her will.
However, in the apology he had given to the investigator last July, the accused actor had denied the accusations made against him and had spoken of "false and non-existent allegations", but also of "vengeance rage" in his face.
